Easter

He is risen!
Mimi got Noah a special Easter basket for his first Easter (actually, she had it last year in case he made an early debut, but we all know how that went).
This was Noah's first time on a bike, it's way too big for him, but he had fun!
Mimi insisted that Noah participate in the Easter egg hunt, but we thought that 2 was plenty...

I had wanted to do something really creative with Noah's cake...but I just ran out of time. I did make him a carrot cake from scratch with homemade cream cheese frosting...YUM!

One of my favorite things about parties for little ones is how all the kids want to help open presents...and play with them immediately. It was so cute! Noah got lots of wonderful presents...we are so grateful for the generosity of our friends and family.

Noah did frequently try to escape the torture of opening new presents, but he was a good sport and loves everything he got.

Noah's first birthday...at the beach!

I know, Noah is ONE!! This year has flown by so fast...every day has been such a blessing. Yes, I'm behind, Noah actually turned one over 2 weeks ago now, but I'm catching up tonight, so relax. The weekend of his actual birthday Matt had to go to Atlanta for business, so Noah suggested we take a little road trip, just the two of us. We went to Va Beach to visit some friends. Friday night was pretty rough since Noah's first molar decided to make it's appearance for his birthday. Despite the rough night, Noah ended up having a really fun weekend.

Anna and I took Noah down to see the beach on Saturday. He loved it. I think he would have been happy to stare at the ocean all day.

As you can see it was pretty windy, but an otherwise perfect April beach day.

Kate had set up a little party for Noah at her house for Saturday evening. (In case everyone doesn't know this...balloons are the BEST toy - way to go Kate!) Noah got to play with Hakon, and I got to visit with Kate, Anna, Beth, Liz and Southern.

Southern made Noah his first cake...

Noah did try to blow out the candles himself, but couldn't quite do it.

"Hmm, I like this cake stuff..."

"...I really like this cake stuff..."

"Mommy, Mommy please give me more of this yummy cake!!!"

Noah and Hakon had fun playing together. Could they be any cuter?
Noah likes having the carseat forward facing, and so do I. He did AMAZING on the trip home (yes, I was worried). He watched the cars and played for the first 30 minutes or so and then slept almost the entire rest of the way home. I actually got to drive 4 hours with no stopping during the day, with Noah in the car...YES! (Quite the testament to how exhausted he was after his super fun weekend at the beach.)

Love it...

Just pretend that I'm not way behind on my posting and enjoy these videos that Elisa posted from earlier this week. Elisa saves the day...again!
