Kitchen Shenanigans

I think this may be the first time I've posted a picture taken on the same day as the post...impressive right? Oh, duh, yesterdays post was of pictures from yesterday...two days in a row, same day pics...SUPER impressive! Anyway Noah is obsessed with the kitchen. He wasn't allowed in at all until this week, so now that we let him in occasionally he absolutely loves it. This morning he grabbed a kitchen towel and was hitting his reflection in the oven door with it. A picture and a video...so you can more fully experience the cuteness.

...and isn't it so cute how he sits on his knees?

Sport of choice...soccer?

Noah loves to play with balls. "Catch" has been a long time favorite game, and now that he's working on walking he likes to kick the ball too. He only kicks with his right leg and his kick is really more like a push, but he loves it. The ball he's playing with is possibly the best $4 I ever spent. He loves the "Little Einsteins" show on the Disney channel (the characters on the ball). No, we don't really watch tv with him, but this show is 20 minutes long and has tons of singing and interaction. The first time he watched part of it with Matt he started clapping along with the characters. Once, Matt pulled up the intro credits on YouTube to play for Noah, and he got really upset when the song was over and the show didn't start. Precious. Oh, and how cute are these pjs?

Such a face!

I know what you're thinking. How could I possibly take a picture of such a sad face when Noah obviously needs some mommy love? Let me enlighten you. This is not the "I'm tired and need a nap" face. It's not the "I don't feel good" face, and it's not the "I just need a hug" face. This is the "mommy mommy please please please let me play with the camera" face. It's so hard to resist, but I'm sure you'll all agree that it would not be a good idea to let Noah and his sweet teething self get his hands on the camera.

Noah and Riley

This was actually from almost a month ago - I forgot it was on the camera (oops). Anyway it's so fun to see these two play together.

Create it Forward

The first five people to respond to this post will get something handmade by me.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations so please read carefully:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It'll be done this year (2009).
4. You have no clue what it's going to be.
5. It will be something made in the real world and not something over the internet.

Here's the fine print:
In return, all you need to do is post this text into a blog of your own and make 5 things for 5 others. No cheating; if you want something from me you have to post this on your site and follow through. You do not have to be particularly artsy-fartsy to do this. Really. Just be creative.

So proud of Brian...

Those of you that are familiar with The Girl's House know Brian Million. Brian lived three houses down from us but was a frequent dinner guest, "Late Night with Conan" and Earl Grey guest, and was basically our tenth roommate. Brian is such a talented musician (and soon to be daddy - yea Brian!) and has some new tunes available to check out here.

Noah is still standing up every chance he gets. He cruises like a champ and occasionally will let go with both hands, but not for long.

Still loving his "burpy." I know, why do I let Matt nickname things? He's unstoppable.

Favorite toy: humidifier. He likes to swish the water around...likes to feel the mist when it's on...likes to use it to stand up and get new burpies out of the cabinet...and likes to blow out the little blue light that lights up when its on. On that note, he actually blows at all lights. He has connected that a light is somewhat like a candle, so he throws his head back all the time and tried to blow lights out. LED lights too, on the DVD player, alarm clock, the reflection of the window on the TV. So funny, working on getting video of it. Stay tuned.

Lunch with Judah

Yet again I am so grateful for what a good blogger Elisa is. Check out these videos.

Hypothyroidism and weaning

So I had been a little down about how hard a time I have had losing the baby weight. It was actually pretty frustrating. Ironically I decided to go to the doctor to have my wrist looked at (cyst-no biggie) and ended up finding out that I have hypothyroidism. It definitely made me feel better about the whole baby weight thing, but my doctor did not recommend me waiting till I was done breastfeeding to start the medication I now need to take. That's right...weaning here we come. He said that it woudl be fine to keep breastfeeding, but I"d rather not give Noah anything that he doesnt' need...especially hormones. Okay, cutting out the unnecessary details...I'm still nursing him some (cold turkey for an 11 month old is a bad idea) but I'm not pumping anymore (as of today). The not pumping is actually a relief...I'm pretty sick of it (and so is Matt since he always has to do the dishes). The hardest thing for me will be on Saturday, when I woudl normally nurse him during the eday but will have to give him a bottle instead. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. Wow, I definitely think this will be harder on me than it will be on Noah. So that's the fast version of that update...

Playing around...

Elisa has put me to shame for a long time...but now that Kate has had a blog (focused on her adoption journey of the past couple of years - check it out, it really informative and entertaining) for a week that has way more cool stuff on it than mine does, I decided to play around. So I started...then realized that I should not be doing this at 12:34 AM. I should be sleeping. Elisa's recent post reminded me that I was never really happy with my "About Me," so its gone until further notice. I also did the Followers thing...and yea Melissa for following the blog before I even knew that that was possible! (You are designated my number one fan!) Rachel will argue this since she checks the blog daily she should be the number one fan (but where's the proof-leave a comment sis, I know you think something when you see these fun pics of your incredibly sweet nephew). Rachels thought right now was about that ridiculous sentence...but its 12:45 now, so give me a break!

Okay, okay, you want more Noah right? I know, who doesn't? I've been busy...so I'm back to my old thievery. Elisa posted a couple of videos of the kids dancing. Check them out. I'm not sure I've expressed on the blog how much I love that Noah gets regular Forshey time. Judah is his little friend, and Sofi does such a good job helping to take care of him. It is really fun to see the kids together...enjoy! (and thanks again Elisa - I put 3 links to your blog in 1 post - impressive eh!?!)
